Lost password when changing member groups

If I assign another member group to a member, this member can no longer log in. The password of these members are then changed. Can someone verify this?

Hi there,
I have created a member and assigned it to Manager Group.
Login, success.
Then I assigned (changed) that member to Staff Group.
Login, success with the same password.
No issue observed.

I could identify this issue. Microsoft Edge specifies a generated password in password fields. This is taken over and saved in the member mask. This happens even though the "change password" button was not pressed. Does anyone have an idea how to prevent this?

That's very weird behavior .. to make sure I understand what happen and can be able to reproduce it: you signed in as a non-admin user in Microsoft Edge, visited the user profile page, made some change (but not password change), and the password got changed unintendedly, right?

No. I called the "admin area" as admin. Then called a "member" and changed the "group". I didn't click "update password". Then I saved the member. Edge put a new password in the hidden password fields. maybe the original password wasn't secure enough according to the Edge guidelines. Thank you very much!
