Problem with generrating app on my server

Post by kgeorge » 2025-04-23 11:58

Good morning guys,

Over the years I have done this many times with no problems, but I was trying to set up a test server on a domain. I copied the AppGini files, created the app and uploaded it to my server. I went to URL and the first time I got the AppGini new site screen. It asked for DB info and my username and password.

I clicked submit or continue whichever the button was and the disappeared and I got a blank white screen. If i recall the app is supposed to begin creating the tables, fields etc. Mine did nothing. Plus after deleting files on the server and repeating the process, third time through I never even got the AppGini splash screen. I think all the file permissions are set to read/write.

The VERY same app is running a different domain perfectly fine. Although it was not "generated" on this server, my hosting company migrated the files, DB etc to a new server. but seemingly doesn't that tell me that the server specs and settings are NOT the problem?

I need some ideas as to how to fix this VERY quickly. I have a couple of project that absolutely require a testing environment. Any assistance would be hugely appreciated!! Thanks you in advance!

Hi,

which version of AppGini and MySql and PHP did you use? There could be an issue with older versions and PHP>=8 if I recall correctly.
You may try with different versions to figure out if that is the case.
Any help offered comes with the best of intentions. Use it at your own risk. In any case, please make a backup of your existing environment before applying any changes.
