Hello everyone,
I would like to install Smart Report Maker (SRM) and use it with an application generated by AppGini.
I have already downloaded the SRM installation package, but I’m not exactly sure how to:
Properly install SRM on my local or online server.
Connect it to the database created by AppGini.
Generate reports from the tables of my AppGini application.
Know if there are any specific configurations needed for SRM to work well with AppGini (security, user access management, etc.).
If anyone has already implemented this integration, I would appreciate a step-by-step guide or concrete examples.
Thanks in advance for your help

Please check the getting started section of Smart Report Maker documentation.
Also check the data connections section for instructions on connecting to your AppGini database.

Hello
Thank you M Ahmed for your reply .
I was wondering if it would be possible to have a short video demonstration showing the full process — from the installation/startup of Smart Report Maker to connecting it with an AppGini database.
This would be very helpful for beginners like me to better understand the workflow step by step.
Thanks in advance!

Hi haitalla,
I bought Smart Report Maker but I am not really happy with it.
It's NOT a plugin to AG as we know it.
You will need to install it using one of their methods (composer, cpanel, docker). I (almost no docker knowledge) found installation with docker quite hard. I was unable to find a simple php+html+stuff installation package to throw it on my webserver.
If i had known before I would NOT have bought it. I was expecting some plugin option like we know from AG.
Data connections setting like Ahmed says ... well, this may mean you have to open the database for non-localhost access (if you are running the tool somewhere else)

Re: How to install Smart Report Maker and use it with AppGini?
Thank you, Olaf.
I'm not fully satisfied either. I hope Mr. Ahmed and his team will find a solution to integrate it directly into AppGini applications.

Hi friends—A. Karim here from Webuccino (publisher of SRM). I want to thank you for posting your feedback.
Quick clarity: SRM is a stand-alone reporting platform, not an AppGini plugin— you can integrate the two systems (I’ll explain how in a moment).
Install options (no Docker required): Docker is optional. You can install SRM via cPanel, Composer, Plesk, CWP, and more. Additionally, We’re adding more installation methods and we will very soon publish step-by-step video tutorials beside our existing textual documentation soon. if you Need help? Open a support ticket anytime.
About the integration between SRM and Appgini, please know that you can connect all the databases from your AppGini-generated apps into one central hub. Using the Data Connections page, you can add multiple databases easily.
Additionally, in the Coming next month, An Embed Manager will be available in SRM to place SRM dashboards/pivots/charts inside your AppGini apps or any other php apps. Recent SRM customers will receive this update free.

Hi Akarim,
thank you for your input.
I am looking forward to what you announced.
Of course I am talking for me only: For me the biggest problem was installation - at first - and the usage.
Installation:
We are talking AppGini, thus we are people who know how to throw stuff via FTP on a webserver. Thus, I expected a ZIP with all files that I need to throw at my webserver - run install.php or something similar - done.
Usage:
I am using it as a docker installation on my development PC. This makes it inaccessible to everyone else. Placing it on a webserver, would be essential to make use of it for my customers.
