Use Vimeo instead of YouTube

The recommended method of customizing your AppGini-generated application is through hooks. But sometimes you might need to add functionality not accessible through hooks. You can discuss this here.

Use Vimeo instead of YouTube

Post by Marcelo Vitoria » 2024-12-17 21:33

I need to make demonstration videos, but videos longer than 1 minute on YouTube are always removed and blocked because they claim that they violate privacy rules, even when you use fictitious names on data screens of systems created in AppGini.

I would like to know if it is possible to use Vimeo (https://vimeo.com) instead of YouTube in the video link in the field configuration.

Vimeo is less bureaucratic and has much more user-friendly editing tools than YouTube.

I already use Vimeo videos on my websites and they work satisfactorily.

How do I do this in AppGini?

Thanks

Hi,

Can't you simply use the Embed code provided by Vimeo?

Video fields currently only support Youtube, but I've added your request to our AppGini backlog and will consider supporting Vimeo in future releases.
 AppGini plugins to add more power to your apps:
