Roadmap for AppGini 5.20

Post by a.gneady » 2013-06-20 12:01

Hello,

I wanted to let you know my initial plan for AppGini 5.20 based on the most frequently requested features from many users who contacted me. But of course this is open to discussion so please let me know if you have any comments.

Planned release date: Mid October 2013.
Planned features:
  • Responsive (mobile/tablet friendly) views, based on MVC architecture
  • Ability to select one or more records in table view and show customizable actions accordingly (similar to gmail).
  • Better lookup drop-downs that include pagination, and where new parent records can be added directly inside lookups.
  • Support for enum data type -- handle it as a multiple-choice options list.
 AppGini plugins to add more power to your apps:
  • DataTalk is an innovative AppGini plugin based on ChatGPT that allows you to interact with your AppGini database using natural language questions, without writing any SQL. Check the demo video
  • Mass Update plugin: Update multiple records at once and improve your workflow efficiency.
  • Check our other plugins and get a generous discount of up to 30% when buying 2 or more plugins.

This sounds great! Thanks for keeping an open line of sight with your user base and seeking input. My only suggestion is to...

"bite small and swallow fast!" :D :D :D

That already looks like a fairly large change to me. I can't wait to see it happen. Many thanks in advance.

Just wanted to share some glimpses from the new responsive homepage with you. Your comments are welcome ... the screenshots were taken from the Northwind sample project, like the demo at http://bigprof.com/demo

This is how the home page would appear on a PC screen:

This is how the same page scales down to a 7-inch tablet screen:

This is how the same page scales down to a small phone screen:

And finally, this is how the tables navigation menu looks like on a phone screen:

The page is styled using the amazing Twitter Bootstrap 3.0 framework.
