is there any way to create an attachment field? we've got images but no other file types

of course restrict the availability to member type and file type (pdf).

Document uploads is a standard field option in AppGini

Create a new field, go to "Link Behaviour/Uploads" tab and select "Allow users to upload files of type". Select the permissible file types for upload. You can edit the file types too if required.
