I can't make LDAP authentication work

Post by A Bindi » 2025-08-20 11:03

I can't make LDAP authentication work in any way in APPGini Ver.24.18 with my AD Windows 2016 Server.

The LDAP authentication which I have used to date with the Appgini Ver.5.97 explained in: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2707 runs perfectly instead now in APPGini Ver.24.18 does not works.

In the LDAP settings I specified:
LDAP server: LDAP://dc2.mydomain.it:389
LDAP version:3
LDAP username prefix: samaccountname=
LDAP username suffix: ,cn=Users,dc=mydomain,dc=it
Default user group for new LDAP users: Segreteria

when I try to logon with my usual account I receive everytime the message: "Your previous login attempt failed. Try again."

I'm stuck can you please help me ?

:(

I used "cn=" and "uid=" but with no results ...

I noticed also other users with this problem (i.e: https://forums.appgini.com/phpbb/viewto ... f=4&t=2707) but no one has replied with a solution.

I managed to make LDAP authentication work, but only with the AD credentials "name+surname" not username.
username that should be used !

I have a test user named John Smith having as username "jsmith" and I would want they can authenticate with his username

However, for now he can only authenticate with his name+surname (which is not the correct method):

jsmith_login.jpg
jsmith_login.jpg (33.53 KiB) Viewed 398 times

the correct method would be to use the "username" (which however does not work):

jsmith_login_no.jpg
jsmith_login_no.jpg (60.11 KiB) Viewed 398 times

How can I activate login with the "username" instead of with the "name+surname" ?

I don't know if I correctly explained myself.
