Database Config Error Northwind

Post by soltec1 » 2013-11-13 19:31

OK, I followed the tutorial..
I downloaded Northwind
Opened up in App Gini
Hit F5
Created a folder with the outputted PHP

Went to my browser..

And dont understand your settings page...

There is an "Admin section" - but i have filled out no admin details?
There is an email account - which email account is this?

Will it create the MySQL database first? Or should i create it first in my host...

Ive tried both, and cannot connect....keep getting error, "database connection error"

Its very confusing for a newbie, or is that because the video tutorial needs updating ??

can i use the hosts config.php?

THat leaves the admin, which is a "new setting"

Ive tried the email address, that i registered the software with, yet i get incorect email error?

Im making progress, i know this is a good piece of software - The northwind demo is great...just need to get it up so i can have a proper look :)

1. After you hit F5 upload everything to your server using FTP (or other programs to upload your files to your server)
2. YOU NEED TO Create the database first (save the information of database name, user name, and password).
3. Go to the web address of the uploaded files, this will automatically trigger the setup.
Just fill out the details, and everything will be installed.

That is it.
