Make this "-" character valid

Question
It is possible to modify "add" the user registry so that it accepts it in this format "8-96-963" and does not show me an error ... as in the attached image. Make this "-" character valid
user input format

I had the same issue a couple of days ago in a customer's environment. I totally agree the "-" should be a valid character, as many of my customers are using it in their Microsoft Active Directory (AD) accounts.
