Search Page Maker and French accentuated characters in combo-box list

Hello,
I installed SPM and saw that french accentuated characters are transformed in combobox data lists.
For example :
The status "Cloturé" is tranformed in something like that "Clotur\eism".
I had to change all the values "Cloturé" in my database records and in combobox list in value "Cloture" accent suppressed.
However MySql DataBase support UTF8 characters i.e. accentuated characters.
Why SPM Not...
