Password Reset does not work

Password Reset does not work

Dear all,

Since several years I am a happy user of AppGini apps.
For example: if you look at www.bruedergrimmschule.de,
in the right column you will find a "quote of the day" that is being fed by an Appgini application.

Up to now, I have never "tried" and checked the password reset functionality.
Today I thought I'd give it a try.

But the password reset functionality is not working, I do not receive any e-mail related to the password-reset request.
allthough I think that I have entered the correct e-mail details in the admin settings page.

Any suggestions how to solve would be highly appreciated.

Yes, I have checked the spam-box, no messages there.

Are you using Sendmail or did you configure SMTP?

Are you able to send a message to any user from Admin Area?

If sendmail: just in case you are testing on localhost: make sure your local mailserver has been installed and configured correctly with php. In Windows environments with XAMPP or WAMP there may be no mailserver installed at all. So I recommend using SMTP instead with a mail account on any remote Hosting environment.

Hi Jan,

- I have configured SMTP with the correct settings.
- I can send messages to any user from the admin area (that works great!)
- But when requesting a new password (before loging in), I get the message wrong username / wrong email or wrong password.

Any suggestions?
