Re: DML functions

sql() is the function to use for this purpose. Here are some examples: To delete/edit/insert: sql("update table `customers` set phone='123456789' where customerID=22", $eo); To retrieve (select) records: $records = sql("select * from `customers` where state='NY' order by customerID", $eo); while($cu...

Re: Adding more than one owner to the record. Please Help!

Hi Almaqdad, Although the structure of the "membership_userrecords" table does allow multiple owners for each record, the generated code is written in a manner to support only one owner per record. I'll try to review the code to see if supporting more than one record owner is possible in all scenari...

Thank you for posting these tools ... here are 2 more that I use all the time: Keybreeze from http://sourceforge.net/projects/keybreeze/ is a true time saver ... it allows you to assign a shortcut command to URLs, folders, text/code snippets, programs and files ... etc ... and you can access them al...

Re: Hide Fields based on Groups

It's possible but needs several hook customizations. I'll try writing an article or post on how to do this, or consider adding it as a new feature in the admin area.

Re: Different field order on table view versus detail view

Well .. no need to worry about raising the price as I already raised it in the latest release and don't plan to raise it again in the near future (unless the dollar value drops dramatically -- but that's a different topic) ... What I'm more concerned for is that adding a lot of new styling options w...

Re: Change ownership of record automatically

Alan, thank you a lot for all your contributions and your sharing all the tips. Here is a tip for starting this: you'll need to add your code to the tablename_insert hook ... the code would send the email using the standard PHP mail() function, and change the record owner by updating the "membership...

Re: Multipel-Selection

Multiple selection is currently supported only for option lists. But I'll consider adding it for lookup fields in future releases, though this is not very-well supported by MySQL.

Re: Ability to totally hide or rename form related buttons

Hi Kerem, In AppGini 5.0, when you open the detail view, the button is labeled "Back" until you make any change to the record. The change would cause the button label to be "Cancel". I believe this makes things clearer: if you click a button labeled "Back", it would go to the table view and nothing ...

When you say "only displayed in Appgini", I assume you mean the generated Appgini PHP application.
Yes, that's what I meant. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Database independent display fields

Yes, I plan to implement such feature in future releases, but haven't decided yet if I'll implement it as an actual field with a calculated value, or as a "virtual" field that is only displayed in AppGini application but not stored in the database.

What do you think?

Re: Passing values between hooks - is it possible?

Hi Kerem, Welcome to the new forum :) Try this: $GLOBAL['foo'] = 'bar'; And you can retrieve it later on anywhere else: echo $GLOBAL['foo']; Please beware that this variable will be available only for the length of the request. Once the output has been sent to the user, the stored value will be gone...
