Thanks a lot for your suggestions and sorry for the long delay. I'll consider them for implementation in future versions.

Re: Admin Area Button

Probably this might be caused if the admin username specified in config.php is not the same as the admin username stored in the database. Please check config.php and make sure the correct admin username is present.

Re: bugs unauthorized users access pdf files knowing the link

Hmm ... basic questions first:

1. Is mod rewrite enabled on your server? To check it, please follow the steps here: https://stackoverflow.com/a/10891317/1945185
2. Do you see any error reported in the server error_log after creating the .htaccess file?

Re: SPM simple view not preset with last filter

Please send me the AXP project file to inspect this issue. I need the one uploaded to plugins/projects folder, not the original one you used in AppGini. Please send it using the support form at https://bigprof.com/appgini/support-request

Re: Detail View Uncaught Reference Error

This would be caused by the browser unable to find jQuery. Could you please, in the inspector window, switch to the 'Network' tab and make sure the 'All' tab is selected. Then reload the page using F5 and check to see if any errors are reported. My guess is that you need to upload jquery file.

Re: bugs unauthorized users access pdf files knowing the link

Please don't post duplicate posts ... I removed the other duplicates of this post. You could try adding this to an .htaccess file in the upload folder: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$ RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} \.mydomain\.com [NC] RewriteRule \.pdf$ - [F,L] Change 'mydomain\.com' ...

Re: upgrade editor

I checked some editors recently to consider replacing nicedit ... the main criterion I'm looking for is a lightweight editor packaged as a single js file (with perhaps one css and one icons file max), all under 100KB. I checked Summernote and Trumbowyg as they met that criterion and looked promising...

Re: Build web application with SQL server

AppGini 6.0 is perhaps 4-6 months away. You'd have unfortunately to check the SQL queries in each generated file and manually edit them. There might be a way to do it centrally inside the sql() function defined in incCommon.php and admin/incFunctions.php .. The sql() function is where most of the SQ...

Re: Password and session management within AppGini

We've fixed the password hashing functionality in AppGini 5.73, as well as 'remember me' hardening. There are some other maintenance tasks remaining, but I hope we'll be able to release it in early December. The new password hashing would work only under PHP 5.5 or higher. For older versions of PHP,...

Re: Have a trigger to Auto Create a Database Table

Hmm ... I guess it could be done if some naming rules are followed. I didn't analyze it in full detail but I can imagine it might work as follows: let's say a new member signs up. In the member_activity hook , you create a new table named for example "profile_{$username}" (so that the username is pa...

Re: login in to two appgini applications only once

Are both apps on the same domain name? For example, domain.com/app1 and domain.com/app2? If yes, you should give them the same application name (the application name is the name of the top node in the left tree pane in AppGini, see https://cdn.bigprof.com/screencasts/2018-11-21_1521.png ) ... next, ...

Re: Link to add new register

You can pre-populate a field in the new record if it's a lookup field by adding this parameter to the URL:

Code: Select all

filterer_fieldname=id
.. replace fieldname with the actual name of the lookup field, and id with the primary key value of the parent record.

Re: Special Links URL Parameters

You could use the browser inspector to "spy" on what parameters are getting sent in various operations. Under the "Network" tab, click the "HTML" subtab and then perform some action. You should be able to see request parameters for that action. We'll try to expand this page and add more details to i...

Re: MS SQL Suppot

Regarding SQL Server support, we investigated it for some time before and it turned out to be a non-easy task, as most SQL queries would have to be rewritten since SQL syntax is different from MySQL ... We plan to revisit this some time later .. perhaps in AppGini 6.0.

Re: Allow Admin to "view as group/user"

@sjohn: That would work if the admin knows the password of the user, but I guess @wronan needs a quicker way where he could just go to the members list in the admin area and click a button 'View as' or something ... and then he is navigating the application as that other user ... I like the idea as ...

Update : Let's say you want to perform some operation after reloading the table view (for example, highlight rows or cells matching some criteria), you could pass a callback function as the 2nd parameter to load() as shown below: $j(function(){ setInterval(function(){ $j('table').parent().load('tab...

Periodically refreshing the table view without reloading the page

An AppGini user sent me an interesting question, and I wanted to share the answer here. Here is his question: I need to refresh the table view, but without blinking, as currently setInterval is very anoying. Is there any way to AJAX load the table view, or do you have any suggestion (Use case : the ...
