Hep with Data Format

Post by I.Roberto » 2014-10-22 01:46

Hi, I am trying to edit the
dataFormat.cgf file.
I need to add a format like this:
ABCD1234567
The total alpanumeric lenght is 11.
Basically the first 4 (random) letters (possibly in upper case) and 7 (random) numbers right after, no space!

Can anyone help me please?
Thanks
Rob

I cannot find the file in any of my generated apps. Can you provide the path to the file please. Is it generated by AppGini?

Thanks

This file is in the Program directory and it is explained on a popup if you press:
Data Format
Add/Edit Data Formats
on a field window....

So it is not a AppGini generated file then? I must be having a blond moment because I cannot find it.

Please give the exact path to the file location in the format of: c:/Program Files/AppGini/...

I also did a Google search and could not find a reference to that file. I also did a search of all files on my computer and could not find it. What version of windows are you using? More information is better than less. But I think this may not be the correct forum for this question as it may not be an appgini generated file.

Duh, never mind. Found it. Was really a blond moment happening. Will examine and see if I can figure out what you want.

:)
I am not sure, but maybe it would be better to modify a generated file!

No you can modify that one but you have to create the format you want first using mysql coding.

But what is the purpose of this format you wish to create?

The other formats are very specific - date, phone number etc and fill a specific circumstance. What data will be going into this format and how will it be used?
